"Party Game 1" (2019) Party Game 1 is my rendition of an Origami Fortune Teller, which my friends & I would make for entertainment in elementary school. Although made from simple white paper & black micron, this is not your typical Origami Fortune Teller; its directions are unclear & its subject matter & imagery seem illogical. As opposed to the colors & numbers that typically adorn these children's crafts, I created drawings of small & random yet significant possessions of mine that lead to perplexing instructions. Either to be entertained or confused, play on!
"Bellyflop on Grass" (2019-2021)The birth of this project occurred in 2016 when I began writing notes on my phone whenever I went out with friends. I would look back at my notes the next morning & hysterically laugh, feeling so grateful that I preserved the memory of that night with that little gift of a note. For 4 years, the note file kept expanding, & I realized that the notes needed a new home. I grabbed an empty sketchbook & began transferring. Over 120 pages later, here we are knee-deep in befuddling phrases, questionable sentences, drawings, & a collection of small scrapbooked tokens from the last era of my life.

"Sophia's Special Alphabet Lil Thingy Primer!" (2018)Created for a school assignment, this book is an alphabet primer riddled with strange phrases that have manifested through my own questionable thoughts & inside jokes between my friends & I. In alphabetical order, each phrase is accompanied by an illustration that I deemed best communicated the phrase. For this creation, I used a repurposed scrapbook, white gesso, black micron pen, blue & pink highlighters, an orange gel pen, & yellow watercolor paint
